March 2026 Stamping Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle Featuring Techniques- including an easy fun fold with measurements

I share my passion for stamps, ink & paper with a special flock of ladies called the “Stampin’ Stray Ducklings”. Whenever we’re together, feathers fly because of all the fun we have! Today, my feathered (or notsomuch! LOL) friends & I are featuring techniques. I chose to bring back the chalkboard technique. It’s been a very long time since I’ve done it!

I started by taking a piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock measuring 5½”x6½” and scoring it at 4¼” on the long side. I added a piece of Lovely Garden DSP that measured 2″x5¼” to the flap. Then I simply used my stamp positioning tool and the Words of Beauty stamp set to stamp on a piece of Basic Black Cardstock using Whisper White Craft Ink. I reapplied ink until I got the level of darkness I wanted (my stamp pad is not juicy, LOL) Then I took a small piece of a sponge and lightly dabbed white ink over the black. Viola! Instant chalk look! 😉

I die-cut the focal piece using the branching out dies then I centered it and adhered it to the top flap and added 3 Moody Palette Glossy Dots. I added a piece of 4″x5¼” piece of Basic White cardstock inside then took 2- 1″ squares of the Lovely Garden DSP and cut them diagonally. I added them to the Basic White for a finishing touch on my card (You have to use 2 of them or the lines don’t match up correctly 😉 ) . And that’s it! Easy Peasy!!! I have to remember to use this technique more often. It was fun 🙂
