Hello there. Today I have a different kind of card for you than I’m used to making. I don’t usually do masking. I buy the masks and then they sit š but, when I saw these sunflowers, I knew I’d use them. I dug out my blending brushes and started inking away. I loved it!
Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy! They put little notches on the top of the masks so you can line them up perfectly!
There are seven masks in this set. 4 are for the Sunflowers and the other 3 are backgrounds – herringbone, snowflake and leaves. I can’t wait to use them!
The inside of my card is very plain. I chose to just use the Trio Punch again (I seriously love corner punches!)
There is a trick to getting these corners even though. You have to flip the paper to make them match.
I finished my card off with some In-Color Dots.
I have another Sunflower masked card that I received in a swap. This would be the Stepped-Up Version of my card. It was made by my friend and fellow Duckling, Laura Roethle.
Isn’t it beautiful? I love all the extra steps she did to make it so special. Laura used the masks and blending brushes first then ran her inked piece through her Cut & Emboss machine with the Exposed Brick embossing folder. She then mounted it on a piece of Early Espresso and looped linen thread around that layer 3 times and tied it together with a bow. She added the tied layer to her Cajun Craze Card Base.
Laura even carried a small sunflower and embossed strip to the inside of her card. I love all her finishing touches.
Gorgeous! This card is simply gorgeous!
In a time crunch? Try my version. Have more time? Try Laura’s version. Just another thing I love about Stamping. You can work it however it fits into your life.
***Because the Abundant Beauty masks are not available at the time of this posting, they are not listed below. They will be available for purchase on September 6, 2023 when the mini catalog goes live. š
