Do you like to make scenery cards? I sure do. They’re my favorite card to make and I love to make them using fun folds. This fun fold has been around a long time. It’s called a Step Card. I’ve made several Step Cards over the years. They are perfect for fireplace scenes. Take a look see:

I love the elegance of this card. It has so much detail. Just look at that fireplace and the stone detail in the die-cut. Hard to believe but this die cut was actually meant to be both a chimney and/or a fireplace. Mind-blowing, right? Stampin’ Up! really thinks outside of the box when they design! The paper that I used for a background as “wallpaper” is from the Oh Holy Night 12×12 pack.
Check out the wreath. I made it with a scrap of Joyful 12×12 DSP and used Pearlized Enamel Effects to make berries. There are die cuts in the set that make berries too, but I wanted more dimension. They look messy up close, but I feel they give more depth and overall texture to the card 😉

I gave the holly on my sentiment texture too.

And speaking of the sentiment…

It’s elegant on it’s own, but I stamped it on a Tailor Made Tags die cut in Shaded Spruce ink. It just adds to the elegance, don’t you think? And didja notice the pretty foiled paper behind the sentiment? That’s the All About Autumn 6×6 Specialty paper. Yep, lots of details in this card!
Back View:

Of course I used my favorite corner trio punch to give the top extra flair.
Side view:

Inside view. You can see here how I cut out the fireplace and added vellum. Normally, I add a tea light to these cards but the tea lights I had on hand were a bit too big for this opening.

As promised, I have measurements for you:
Real Red Cardstock: 4¼ x 11 scored @ 1, 2¼, 4¼ & 5½
2¾ x 5½ scored @ ⅜ & 1 ⅝
Oh Holy Night DSP: 3¼ x 4 & 1¾ x 2½
All About Autumn DSP: 1¾ x 4
There ya go! I hope you love it as much as I do!

This is so adorable. You have one creative brain!
Thank you! I LOVE making fancy cards (as you well know 😉 ) 🙂
