Hello and Happy Monday! Today I am sharing the last card I entered in Linda Bauwin’s challenge for her TEAM members. Linda sent the gorgeous By the Bay Specialty Paper, the Fine Shimmer Paper, the Dry Brushed Metallic Paper and the Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls. We had 3 categories we could enter and this one was my “Annual Catalog” entry since I chose to use the Paradise Palms Stamp Set and the Palm Tree dies.
I LOVE to make cards that have 3-D type scenes and since the By the Bay paper is what it is, we needed some palms trees, right? LOL! I just fussy cut (hand cut) the waves by following the wave pattern on the paper with my paper snips. The inside panel of waves were glued to another piece of the DSP from the pack. The side panels are the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP.
One of the things I did with this card that I seldom ever do, is use Staz-On Ink on the Shimmer Paper for the sentiment. I guess I’m a creature of habit and I forget about this option. I really like the look of it so I’m going to try to remember to do that more often! Staz-On ink is a permanent ink that works really well with shinier surfaces so it doesn’t smear like other inks might. I love using ovals in my projects too so the oval from the All That dies really worked well on this card and I love that it overhangs the fold next to the palm trees.
Bridge folds are a very easy way of making a card come to life. I use them a lot as there are varying ways to size them and make them look different. This particular card is 4¼” x 7½” scored at 1½, 2½, 5 & 6. I love the look of it because the side panels on the front are wider to show off that gorgeous DSP. It really worked well for this design.
I added some Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls at the base of the trees.
More waves on the back and room to write a message to the recipient 🙂
This card really makes me want to find an island! How ’bout you? I hope you’ve enjoyed my card share today. Please bookmark my page so you can come back to visit me.
HAPPY STAMPING!!!
