October We BEE Stamping Blog Hop Creativity is in the Air Side Latch Card with Measurements

Hello there! The We Bee Stamping Team is excited to bring you more inspiration through our monthly Blog Hop. This month our theme is Creativity is in the Air, which could be just about anything. I chose to make an easy Side Latch fun fold using the Painted Pumpkins Bundle.

I’ve made many of these fun folds in the past. You can see a couple of them HERE and HERE. However, this one is created backwards from the others. I scored it the same way, but I just turned the card base 180° so the “latch” was on the left side vs. the right side. 😉 I wanted my gate to open the correct direction and if I’d have put it on right, it would’ve opened wonky 😉

And, check out these masks that are part of the bundle. If you’re like me and say, “Oh, I don’t like masks/blending,” you just gotta try it. Seriously. The color you get using these is unbelievable!

I’ve been playing with all kinds of colors and believe me when I say, the colors shown in these two pictures aren’t my favorite… but, ya just gotta play until you find ones you’re happiest with.

I tried so many colors. Probably my favorites are Basic Beige (not shown here), Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie. What I learned was that when you did the first step (each mask is notched and numbered to make it easy for layering 😉 ) you ink up your blending brush then brush some of it off on scratch paper before adding it to your image to make your base image lighter. So.Much.Fun! I’m tellin’ ya you’ve gotta try it!

MEASUREMENTS

• Timid Tiger 5½ x 7¼ scored at 3 & 6 on the long side
• Glow of Harvest Specialty DSP– 2¾ x 5¼ & 1×5¼
• Basic Beige– 2¾ x 5¼
• Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Old Olive and Basic White scraps for die-cutting, stamping and the sentiment.
