Hello Stampers!
Life has been pretty busy for me this week! I have gotten to ride 3 days at 3 different parks and yesterday, myself and two of my friends when to our local park to clear trails. I used a small chainsaw for the first time in my life. I admit, I’m pretty proud of myself, but as always, hubby set me up with the proper gear and I’m very appreciative of that. We weed-wacked, cut, and snipped away for three hours. We made a good dent in things and our trails are looking better, but we still have more to do. My body is sore today! I’m not used to all that manual labor! It’s been pretty exhilarating knowing that I *can* use a chainsaw though. I’ve always been really scared of them. It certainly empowered me, but I don’t want to get complacent about it either. Respect the dangerous tools Kim! LOL
Because of all the riding, working and the fact that our internet was out for two days, It’ll be a short card-making & blogging week for me. I hope y’all don’t mind. I’m a fair-weather girl so when the weather’s perfect here in Illinois, I take advantage of it.
Onto the card! 🙂 When I first saw the Les Shoppes Suite in the new catalog, I fell in love with it. The paper is vibrant and fun and the images really drew me in. The straight lines in the images make them easy to cut out with your paper snips too! There are cute little die-cuts like awnings and benches, to add to the shops in the suite as well.
Cute right? And, I have a fun tip on how to get your ribbon tight when you wrap it around the front of your card layer. Just start by tying it around a block. I used a D block today.
Then snip it in half on the back of the block.
Now you simply wrap the snipped ends around the back of your card so you can snug it up on the front.
Cool, eh? I added a little bit of Stampin’ Seal to the back beforehand and just stuck the ends down on that. Before I adhere the layer to my card base I add more Stampin’ Seal over the top of the ribbon and all over the back of that layer (of course 😉 )
I popped the shop, the plant and the sentiment up on mini dimensionals then added some of the Silver Sequins from the suite randomly around the front with my Tombow glue.
A little planter that was die-cut out of the DSP adds some eye-appeal to the inside.
Viola! Cute card in no time at all! I hope you get some time to craft today!
HAPPY STAMPING!
~Kim~
