Hello Friends 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We’re under an extreme heat advisory today. The humidity gets pretty bad here in the corn belt, so I’ll only be going out for chores or when necessary. I’m sure grateful to the person who invented air conditioning right now! Today I want to share a card we made at our Stamping Stray Ducklings Shoebox Swap.
Isn’t it pretty? It’s so elegant! This card was designed by Darlene Johnson and I put it together at the swap. I changed mine up just a hair from her original design, but I just love the technique so much, I had to make another one and do a video so you all could make one too. 🙂 Mine is not elegant- it’s cute, imho, but not elegant. Take a look see:
Also, one error I made that I will point out (which is noted in the video too) is that I moved my embossing folder too far over to the left. I really think this technique works best with our small embossing folders. The bigger embossing folders don’t have enough room to go through the Cut & Emboss machines, but we made it work, because, after all, we’re crafters and that’s what we do 🙂 I really like Darlene’s design better with the space before the embossing starts. I think I’ll be trying this technique again with a different folder, so stay tuned 😉 *Warning- these cards goes together quickly and are addicting! I will be saving, instead of throwing away, those tiny left-over fancy strips in the future!
Here’s the video. Enjoy!
What do ya think? Pretty nifty, eh? I hope you get to try it yourself.
