I’ve got a cute Christmas Card for you today, but first, it’s time to announce our drawing winner from last week’s Nothing’s Better Than Pumpkin Pie post…..
Drum roll please……….. CANDY CARMACK!!! Congratulations on winning the embellishments! I will put those in the mail to you shortly!
Now onto my card. I started with a 7 x 8½” piece of Granny Apple Green CS and scored it on the 7″ side at 3½”. I added a piece of 3¼ x 8¼” piece of Reindeer Days DSP to the front. Then I took a 3×8″ piece of Balmy Blue CS and ran it through my Cut n Emboss machine using the Snowflake Sky embossing folder (you have to do it twice since it’s longer than the folder). This project was inspired by my need to make “Christmas” letters out of the Take a Bow paper and our Mini Alphabet Dies.
I used 5 different patterns from the Take a Bow pack and since the die cuts all of the letters at once, I have plenty left over for other projects.
I added a layer of Pecan Pie letters behind the DSP ones.
In order to line up the letters, I added a loose piece of washi tape and started with the very middle letter- “S” and worked my way outward with each letter. Then I peeled the tape off, and heat embossed 2 gingerbread houses using white powder and versamark ink, punched them out and adhered them using dimensionals on each end.
I made a banner using the Peaceful Season bundle and embossing powder again and also adhered it with dimensionals. I tore a piece of white cardstock to make snow on the bottom then I had a couple of gingerbread people from the More Than Autumn bundle already stamped, cut and colored so I adhered those to the front too. I put the finishing touches on the front by adding some peppermint embellishments to the doors of the gingerbread houses.
The inside was finished with a sentiment out of Peaceful Season and another piece of the Reindeer Days DSP. 🙂
I’m super stoked about the way this turned out. I hope you like it too.
