Hello friends! I’m a day late with my posting. I got behind in my to-do list but I’m hoping this fun 3-D fancy fold will make up for it. I learned it during a Mystery Stamping held by Nancy Legate.
Isn’t it cool how it pops out of the front like that?! I love it!
I started with a 4¼ x 10¾ piece of Thick Basic White and scored it on the long side at 2 5/8, 5 3/8 & 8 1/8.
I cut 4 pieces of DSP & 2 pieces of Blueberry Bushel CS at 2 3/8 x 4 for the front and the inside.
I die cut 4 trees out of Shaded Spruce CS and scored each down the middle then glued all but two sides together. The open sides were then centered and glued onto the middle score line of the card base. Holly Jolly and Oh What fun were stamped in Real Red then fussy cut out with my snips.
I left the back blank so I can write a note to whom it gets sent. I topped the tree with a star and added some iridescent discs to it.
I stamped and die cut some big bulbs from the Merry & Bright bundle. I popped them up with dimensionals and added them to the front of the card then slid some elegant trim through the openings and it was done. Et Viola!
It looks a bit daunting, but honestly, the hardest part (that’s not hard at all) is glueing the trees together. The key here is using a die cut that is symmetrical or using a 2-sided same-color cardstock (which is what I did, because that tree is not symmetrical).
The Merriest Trees Bundle is not retiring, but it will not be a bundle next season, so if you love it why not get it at 10% off right now?! The Merry & Bright bundle is retiring though and will only be available while supplies last. Don’t miss out on this awesome set! You can shop in my store by clicking on any of the product images below. And don’t forget the host code if your order is under $150 and I’ll be sure to send you some retired DSP with your Thank you card!
That’s it for today. 🙂
