January 2023 Stampin’ Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle featuring Sale-A-Bration

I share my passion for stamps, ink & paper with a special flock of ladies called the “Stampin’ Stray Ducklings”. Whenever we’re together, feathers fly because of all the fun we have! Today, my feathered (or notsomuch! LOL) friends & I are featuring items from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

I chose to use the Awesome Owls stamp set. It’s so cute!!! I’ve had this card in my head for a while now, but I was going to use different DSP. Then I saw a card that Lori Helvick made last weekend and the wheels REALLY started turning! 😉 Thanks Mama Duck! Lori used the Rain or Shine DSP on her owl card (I bet she posts it real soon 😉 ) and I had a V8 moment (ya know, the one where you smack yourself in the forehead?) Anyhow….. lol!

My goal was to really make this guy/girl? look like s/he was flying freely through the sky. The billowy clouds and the scalloped edge of the flowers were both done with one of the dies from the Basic Border Dies. It worked out perfectly, don’t you think?

The owls were colored with Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Tahitian Tide and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

I added two Basic White panels on the back so I’d have somewhere to write messages to the recipient.
