Hello there! I hope you’re enjoying your Memorial Weekend. Hubby participated in 3 Memorial Day services this morning, so it’s been busy around here. I had time to whip up a card after lunch 😉 I finally pulled out my Hey Chuck bundle. This bundle was at the top of my list when I ordered but I hadn’t taken the time to use it since it arrived. It’s hilarious! At first, I couldn’t figure out why Stampin’ Up! called it “Hey Chuck”. I mean, I don’t know any roosters named Chuck, do you? Anyhooooo, a few years ago we had a set called “Hey Chick” that was just chickens – no roosters. Well, they’re playing off of the first set’s name. DUH! LOL! I don’t know why I was so slow with that one but I’m glad to know now. LOL!
I started my card using the Sketched Plaid background stamp in Gray Granite. Then I stamped a rooster and a fence piece and colored them using my Stampin’ Blends
I die-cut them out plus die cut a sun and a weathervane. The shape is from the Nested essential die-set and I fringed the grass using a die in the Beautiful Balloons die cuts. I used a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue ink to give the white shape a sky-like color before adding the green die cut layer. Then I “fluffed” the “grass” and added the fence and that crazy rooster 🙂
I stamped a quick rooster inside using Gray Granite, but I left him uncolored. I like the subtleness of it.
The hardest part of this card was coloring and die-cutting. It really went together in a snap.
And there you have it. It’s supposed to be hot all week so I hope to catch up on my stamping! Have a wonderful rest of your day and I’ll catch ya on the flip side!
HAPPY STAMPING! ~Kim~
